Iana Dakova
Owner and Head Coach
From competing on the Bulgarian National Team to refereeing at the Olympics, Coach Iana is familiar with all levels of fencing. Coach Iana arrived in Pittsburgh in 1997. Together with members of the Western PA Division community Coach Iana started Three Rivers Fencing Center (now Pittsburgh Fencer’s Club), which produced many Nationally ranked fencers of all ages, National Team members and NCAA varsity fencers.
Bogdan Barmakov
Assistant Coach
Coach Bogdan came to Pittsburgh in 2023 after a successful career as a high level athlete, including winning European Junior Championships. He is excited to grow fencing in Pittsburgh and working with the next generation of champions.
About Our Club
PITTSBURGH FENCERS’ CLUB was created in 2017 and continued the tradition of providing quality coaching, fun and a supportive atmosphere, as well as access to visiting top coaches and speakers. We are located in the heart of the Point Breeze neighborhood, and easily accessible from anywhere in Pittsburgh.
